We have a super easy sewing project for you today! I’m going to show you How To Make a Pillowcase! This is such a handy skill to have. Recently, I was going through my linen closet and realized it was time for a major update. I threw away all of the mismatched and stained pillowcases and picked out some cute fabric to make some new ones with. I went with a nice neutral color and stripe pattern, but you can choose some fabric that matches your decor or pick a vibrant color to add some contrast. I am really good about getting a new pillow every couple of years, but I often overlook the pillowcases. This project gave me a green light to add some fresh patterns to my linen closet and it turned out great. You can make these in about 15 minutes or less. You’ll only need a few supplies for this sewing project. You’ll need about 1 yard of fabric. I picked out some blue striped fabric for this, but you could use whatever you want to mix and match with your decor. You could also use up some of your scrap fabric pile if you have one started. I used a soft cotton fabric for my pillowcase. Once you have your fabric picked out, you’ll want to pick some matching thread. I went with white. As far as tools go, obviously, you’ll need your sewing machine, some bobbins, something to measure your cuts with like a fabric tape measure or a ruler, some sewing clips or pins, and some scissors. I highly recommend investing in a rotary cutter, mat, and ruler set as it is much faster and easier to get nice, straight cuts with as it stays super sharp for a long time. - kingsize pillow case is 21″ by 37″ (approx 54 cm by 94 cm)

Now, fold the fabric in on the shorter sides about 1/2 inch and press with an iron.

- Flip the top down 4 inches while still inside out. Pin.
- Press and hem along the bottom of the fold.
- Flip the pillowcase right side in.
