We have another fun project for you to make and I am so excited. Today on Happiest Camper, I’m going to show you How To Make A Mouse Out Of A Sock With Free Pattern! I have been looking for some simple projects to do with the kids when we are stuck inside. They are at the age that they love little plush toys and this cute little sock mouse is a hit. They also love the dino and the bear as well. This project can be made in less than half an hour, plus you can make it for almost nothing. I had some extra craft supplies and a few old socks laying around and they worked great. It is so simple and I think it looks great. It would make a nice gift for any child or even as a baby shower gift. If you have some socks you are getting rid of, your supply cost will be nearly nothing. I have included a free pattern to cut out your fabric shapes, but you can also simply draw them on the material if you want. This really is a great project for beginners!
You’ll only need a few other basic supplies like some matching thread, some doll eyes, some thread, your favorite filler, and a hand-sewing needle. I used a little pink pompom for the nose and some yarn for the mustache. I also added an adorable little bow to mine. A pencil or other marking utensil is needed to draw on your material as well. Don’t forget your fabric scissors or my preferred method, your rotary cutter, mat, and ruler. Gather up all your supplies and let’s get started!

The first step in this how to make a mouse out of a sock with free pattern is to draw on your sock where you want the eyes to be. I just used a black marker to mark the locations.
Once you have done that, use some scissors and cut two holes in the marked locations. Add in your doll eyes and secure them in the end of the sock.
Next on this cute sock mouse sewing tutorial, we will work on the nose. Cut 2 small pieces of yarn. You will use one for sewing and one for decoration. Take your pink pompom and sew it to the same end of the sock where you put the doll eyes.

To make the ear shape, pinch the circles at the bottom and sew them together. This looks much better than simply sewing circles to the head of your mouse.
Now just sew them to the head of your sock mouse. Trim the thread when you are done.
Finally, we will stuff our sock mouse. Going from the bottom, stuff the body of the sock with filling to your desired firmness. I wanted my little mouse to be nice and firm, so I stuffed quite a bit of filling in there.
Sew the bottom together with thread.
For the arms of our sock mouse, we will do something a little different. I opted for a different and more simple look.
I just sewed two sides of the mouse’s body in 1 line, so that the hand is outlined. This is much easier than trying to sew on a tiny piece of fabric and I think it looks great.
Draw 2 legs on the leftover sock material, cut out.
Start to sew around, then add stuffing. Finish sewing around.
Sew the pieces onto the bottom of the body. Your sock mouse is really starting to come together!
Tie the piece of yarn on for a mustache.
