Easy Sew Mask Holder for Kids
The first step in this how to make an easy mask holder sewing tutorial is to wash, dry, and iron your fabric. This will act as a preshrink for when you wash this mask holder later and it will help keep your stitches from pulling out. Note that you DO NOT do this to the batting fabric. With that out of the way, we can begin cutting our fabric. Cut a doubled piece of snow white fabric 6 1/2″ wide by 12″ long.
Next, cut another small piece of fabric doubled at 1″ wide and 4″ long.
Cut the batting or wrap n zap the same size as the 6 1/2″ wide by 12″ long. Only one piece. Do not double.
Place down the batting. Place one piece of fabric right print side up. Then place the other piece of snow white fabric print right side down. Clip together.
Now it’s time to sew! Take the small piece of snow white fabric. Place them right sides together and then stitch around the three sides leaving the end open.
Turn right side in. Fold in the end and stitch closed. Fold in half and place this with the loop inside the long piece of fabric near an end. This little loop will allow you to attach a keychain to your mask holder so you can clip it to your bag or purse.
You want it to be place where the bottom fold will be between the printed layers.
Next on this how to make an easy sew mask holder sewing tutorial, stitch together the long pieces with the hoop inside leaving a small hole on the end you will snap to flip it right side in.
Flip right side in. Tuck the hole closed and press with iron. Stitch across the entire end with a decorative stitch.
Fold one end about three-quarters of the way up. Make sure that the top fold comes down perfect to where you can add the snap and will set right. Stitch the bottom up around the three sides.
Make a hole with the poker that comes with the snap pliers. Make one in the bottom side then line it up and make one on the top side. Place the opposite snaps into each and press. If you don’t know how the snaps work, there are several tutorials on youtube that show you how to use them.
You may add a key ring with an alligator clasp to the tab to hook onto a key chain. Place the mask inside.
And that’s it! This easy sew mask holder for kids is the perfect accessory to help your child keep their masks clean and handy when they need them. Perfect to hook on a key chain, bag, or backpack, make several so they have one to take wherever they go. It also makes a great gift. This is so simple to make, you’ll wish you made it sooner!
