Tape Pattern Together

The first thing you are going to do on this how to sew a tortilla warmer sewing tutorial is print and cut out two of the pattern above. Tape the straight side together to make a full circle.

Cut Fabric From Pattern

Place circle pattern on the fabric and cut 4 pieces. Lay the fabric down and place the pattern on top and cut around the pattern.

Lay Out Pattern

Now you are going to repeat the process with the wrap n zap. Place pattern onto wrap n zap and cut two pieces.

Cut Wrap n Zap

This is what your wrap n zap should look like once you cut out your pattern for the tortilla warmer.

Layer Fabrics

Now on this how to sew a tortilla warmer sewing tutorial, the layering begins to prep for sewing. Place one layer of wrap n zap down, then place one piece of fabric right side up and then another piece of fabric right side down. I like to put a little clip in it to hold the layers together. You will repeat this step with the layering so you have two sets of fabric with the wrap n zap sandwiched between the layers.

Clip and Sew

Now you are going to clip along the top to about half of the circle. Stitch along the top of the circle from halfway to halfway. Repeat this on the other set of fabric. We are about halfway through this how to sew a tortilla warmer sewing tutorial!

Sew Half Way Down

As you can see we have sewn half way down while leaving a 1/4″ seam allowance on the edge. This is so we can insert our tortillas when we are done.

Flip Right Side In

Flip right side in where the right side of the fabric is on the outside. Place the two circles together and clip.

Stitch Along Bottom

Next on this how to sew a tortilla warmer sewing tutorial, stitch along the bottom of the circles to adhere the two circles together.

Trim Excess

Trim off excess and flip this sewn edge to the inside.

Completed Product

And that’s it! You’re done! Now you know how to sew a tortilla warmer sewing tutorial! Now you have an opening that will fit the tortillas inside and easily warm in the microwave or keep fresh ones warm. Make sure to use 100 percent cotton so there are no metals in the fabric to melt in the microwave. Wrap n zap is microwaveable, so if you followed the steps in this tutorial, you are ready to tackle your own taco tuesday! Make a few of these and give them away as gifts!
